We recently completed a security camera installation for an apartment building in South Gate, CA. The project was designed to improve surveillance around the building, including entrances, common areas, the garage, walkways, and other important exterior locations.
The system combines 4K security cameras with a 180-degree camera to provide detailed video while reducing blind spots in wider areas of the property.

Why We Used 4K Security Cameras for This Apartment Building
Apartment buildings require clear video coverage because multiple residents, visitors, vehicles, and delivery drivers may enter the property throughout the day.
For this installation, 4K security cameras were positioned around important areas of the building. The higher resolution provides better image detail when reviewing recorded video and helps provide useful coverage of entrances, walkways, parking areas, and other locations around the property.
Camera locations were selected individually to provide useful viewing angles rather than simply installing cameras wherever mounting was easiest.

180-Degree Security Camera for Wider Coverage
One location required a much wider field of view, so we installed a 180-degree security camera.
A 180-degree camera can monitor a broad area that might otherwise require multiple conventional cameras. This helps reduce blind spots while providing a more complete view of activity across the area.
Combining this camera with standard 4K cameras allowed us to use different camera types according to the coverage required at each location.
Exterior Conduit Protects Security Camera Wiring
Several cameras required exterior cable runs because the wiring could not be completely concealed inside the apartment building.
We used exterior conduit to route and protect the security camera wiring along the building. Conduit provides additional physical and weather protection for the cables while allowing the installation to follow the structure of the property.
The conduit and camera locations were planned to keep the installation organized and provide reliable connections between the cameras and recording system.

NVR Monitoring and Complete Apartment Building Coverage
All cameras are connected to the network video recorder (NVR), allowing the different areas of the apartment building to be viewed from one system.
The monitor provides simultaneous views from cameras covering entrances, exterior areas, walkways, the garage, and other important sections of the property. Recorded footage can also be reviewed when an incident needs to be investigated.
This type of system gives apartment building owners and property managers a centralized way to monitor multiple areas of the property while maintaining video recordings for later playback.
