We recently completed a residential security camera service in La Mirada, CA, working with the homeowner’s existing surveillance system. The project included adding an additional security camera to improve coverage and restoring remote viewing after the customer changed internet providers. Once the system was reconfigured, the homeowner was able to access and monitor the security cameras remotely again.

Adding More Security Cameras to an Existing NVR System
When an existing NVR has available camera channels, homeowners have the option to expand their security system in the future without replacing the entire system. Additional cameras can be installed to cover blind spots or areas that were not included during the original installation.
For this La Mirada home, we were able to add another security camera to the existing NVR and improve the property’s overall coverage. This type of expansion allows homeowners to upgrade their surveillance system as their security needs change while continuing to use their existing equipment.

Planning a Security Camera System for Future Expansion
When installing a security camera system, it is important to consider not only the cameras needed today but also the possibility of future expansion. Selecting an NVR with available channels makes it easier to add cameras later if new blind spots are discovered or additional areas of the property need surveillance.
Planning ahead can help avoid replacing the NVR simply because all available camera channels are already being used. A properly planned system gives homeowners and businesses more flexibility to expand their security coverage as their needs change.
